As defined by Maori Dictonairy a Whakapaka is the Maori word for Genealogy. Whakapapa/Genealogy can be defined as one's line of decent and ancestry. It is commonly seen through family trees.
I will be creating a website about my Whakapapa so I can remember our family genealogy and to pass on the information to the next generations of our family. Allowing them, and even me, to understand traditions within our household. This website will also allow me to express my culture with others, and let them know about myself. Additionally, it can help me understand myself much better.
As time passes, the memory of me will begin to fade away, and as a way to say "I was here", I will record it down so for my next generation to read using this website.
